The Mecacera system demonstration experiment began in earnest on July 21, 2017, after a preliminary survey at the customer factory in Sagamihara City on June 16. The company traditionally injected tap water for make-up water without using any chemicals, which led to a significant proliferation of "algae," resulting in cleaning taking half a day. The ultrasonic composite photocatalytic water purification device "Aqua Beam®" participated in the Fisheries Agency's land-based aquaculture project. This project was conducted at a grouper land-based aquaculture facility on Izu Oshima, operated by an organization affiliated with the Fisheries Agency. It was implemented to purify the aquaculture seawater, as leftover feed and waste excreted by the grouper can lead to pollution of the seawater. The water quality purification achieved by "Aqua Beam®" was evaluated positively, noting improvements in turbidity and other parameters. The presence of various mineral components in seawater, along with the successful removal of organic substances, suggests a high potential for application in the aquaculture industry. Our photocatalytic technology has been proven to purify non-potable water to drinking water quality.
The Ministry of Defense hosted a water contest (technology for purifying non-potable water into potable water), where evaluations of small water purification devices produced by various companies were conducted within the Ministry of Defense. As a result, out of many applications, the technologies of four companies were selected in the preliminary technical review, including our photocatalytic technology. Our company equipped the photocatalytic material "Titanistar(R)" and ultraviolet lamps, purifying the contaminated water created by the Ministry of Defense within the specified time. Subsequently, the water was collected by the Ministry of Defense for quality testing, and the results of the water quality inspection conducted by the Minister of Defense received a score close to full marks.
